A triptych turns a single photo into a bold, gallery-style display spread across several canvas panels. At
Atlanta Canvas and Print, we've been making
custom canvas in Snellville since 2000, and split-panel canvas is one of the best ways to fill a large wall with a single image.
Send us your favorite photo, and we'll divide it across 2, 3, or 4 panels, print it on museum-quality canvas, and have it ready for fast local pickup in Snellville or shipping to your door.
What Is a Triptych (or Split) Canvas Print?
A split canvas takes one image and separates it across multiple framed canvas panels that hang with small gaps between them. A "triptych" is the three-panel version (the most popular layout) but you can also split a photo into two panels or four. The eye reads the panels as one continuous picture, which makes even a standard photo feel like a designed piece of wall art. It's a favorite for wide landscapes, city skylines, family portraits, and panoramic travel shots.
Choose Your Split: 2-Panel, Triptych & 4-Panel Layouts
We print several split layouts from your photo:
- 2-Panel Split: a clean, modern look for narrower walls.
- 3-Panel Triptych: our most popular option; balanced and gallery-like.
- 4-Panel Split: maximum impact for large living rooms, lobbies, and offices.
- Custom multi-panel: tell us your wall size, and we'll recommend the best split.
Vertical vs. Horizontal Triptychs
Horizontal triptychs suit wide images, such as beach and mountain scenes, skylines, and photos hung above a sofa or headboard. Meanwhile, vertical triptychs work for tall subjects and narrow wall spaces, like a stairwell or a slim entry wall.
Not sure which fits your photo? Send it over, and we'll show you how it looks split both ways before we print.
How to Pick the Right Size for Your Wall
As a rule of thumb, your split canvas should span about two-thirds the width of the furniture or wall space below it. Measure your wall, leave a few inches of breathing room on each side, and remember the small gaps between panels add to the total width. If you send us your wall measurements, we'll recommend a panel size that fits — this is where a local, photographer-owned lab beats an online-only printer.
Museum-Quality Canvas, Printed Locally in Snellville
Every panel is printed on poly-cotton artist canvas with archival, fade-resistant inks, then hand-stretched over solid stretcher bars (available in 3/4-inch and 1 1/2-inch depths) for a true gallery wrap. Because we're a photographer-owned lab, we personally check color accuracy before anything ships. Your blues stay blue, and skin tones stay natural across every panel.
Add a Hand-Applied Gel Brushstroke Finish
Want your split canvas to look like a hand-painted piece? Add our gel brushstroke finish — a clear gel medium applied by hand over the canvas to create real, textured brushstrokes that catch the light. It's an optional finishing add-on you select when you order your canvas. Learn more on our
Gel Brushstroke Canvas page.
